Dambai (O/R), Aug. 5, GNA – Mr Isaiah Kudjoe Dordoe, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Nkwanta North, has led a high-level security delegation to Abunyanya to engage traditional authorities, community leaders and residents on peace, security and development issues.

The delegation included the District Police Commander, the Military Commander, officials of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), and Mr Kunjin Joshua, Nkwanta North District Youth Commander of the National Youth Authority (NYA).

The visit formed part of efforts by the District Assembly and security agencies to assess the security situation in the area, interact with residents and obtain first-hand information on challenges confronting the community.

During a meeting with traditional authorities, opinion leaders and other stakeholders, the delegation discussed measures to strengthen security, promote social cohesion and create a peaceful environment for development.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Dordoe reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that peace remained the foundation for sustainable development.

He appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies by remaining vigilant, promoting unity and providing timely information to help prevent conflicts and criminal activities.

Mr Dordoe announced that the Government, through the District Assembly, would establish a security post in Abunyanya to enhance security operations in the area.

He said the facility would improve the visibility of security personnel, ensure faster emergency response and strengthen efforts to maintain law and order.

The DCE expressed confidence that the establishment of the security post would not only enhance public safety but also create a conducive environment for socio-economic growth and investment in the community.

The security commanders urged residents to avoid actions that could undermine the prevailing peace and encouraged them to report suspicious activities through the appropriate channels.

Community leaders expressed appreciation to the DCE and the security delegation for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of the Government’s concern for the safety and welfare of the people.

They pledged continued support and cooperation with the District Assembly and security agencies to sustain peace, strengthen community relations and promote the development of Abunyanya and the Nkwanta North District.

The visit ended with a renewed commitment by the District Assembly, security agencies and community leaders to work together to safeguard peace, enhance security and improve the livelihoods of residents.
