Accra, Aug 10, GNA – The Office of the President has received cash contributions, medical supplies, food, and essential humanitarian goods from various corporate organisations and institutions to support victims of the devastating 29 June 2026 flood disaster.
A statement issued by the Presidency said the torrential rains and subsequent flooding severely impacted several parts of the country, particularly the capital, Accra.
It said a wave of corporate philanthropists have poured into the Presidency to support ongoing post-flood mitigation and relief efforts by the Government.
It said senior government officials, including Nana Oye Bampoe Addo, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency in-charge of Finance and Administration; Madam Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew, the Legal Advisor to the President, and Mrs Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Presidential Adviser and Special Aide to the President, received the items on behalf of the state.
The statement said cash contributions were SoftCare FM Manufacturing Company Limited GH₵ 200,000.00 and Ghana Institute of Surveyors GH₵ 50,000.00.
It said major corporate and organisational donors included Ghana Association of Chinese Societies and Companies: 1,112 bags of rice (2.5kg), 4,000 bags of sachet water, 500 cartons of sunflower oil, 490 cartons of Frytol oil, 490 cartons of canned mackerel and 646 cartons of Kivo gari.
Others are 501 cartons of spaghetti, 295 cartons of sardines, 235 cartons of biscuits, 208 cartons of tomato paste, 70 boxes of chocolate cake, 50 cartons of shito and other assorted provisions.
The rest were 2,000 painless malaria rapid test kits, 800 cartons of HPV test kits, 1 box of Coartem (anti-malaria medication), 80 gallons of hand sanitiser, 79 bottles of disinfectant alcohol, 3,000 sleeping mats, 400 school bags, 3,200 T-shirts, 3,100 plastic buckets, 3,000 plastic basins, and 5 stainless steel 2,000-litre water tanks.
Furthermore, three chest freezers, 32 electric cookers, 34 electric fans, 200 bundles of shovels, 120 cartons of mosquito coils, and Temporary shelter/bedding materials. and Temporary shelter/bedding materials.
The statement said Scancom Plc (MTN Ghana), supported by Multimedia Company Limited’s Flood Relief Campaign on radio and television provided 1,400 student mattresses, 1,192 blankets, 998 relief boxes packed with essential food items, blankets, mosquito repellents, nets, and detergents.
It said Sentuo Group Limited donated 4,000 bags of rice (25kg), 600 bags of sugar (50kg) and 387 boxes of granular maize.
The statement said Ecobank Ghana also donated 10 boxes of paracetamol, 10 boxes of hydrolyte, four boxes of Gastrone suspension, along with Ascovit-Cee, Epanol, Permonyl, Nencofer syrup/capsules, dewormers, rubbing alcohol, and antimalarials, 1,000 bags of sachet water, 195 mattresses, 250 blankets and bales of used clothing for men, women, and children.
It said Softcare FM Manufacturing Company Limited provided 100 bags of KleenSoft washing powder & 100 boxes of KleenSoft soap, 100 boxes of sanitary pads and 50 boxes of baby diapers.
The statement noted that B5 Plus Limited donated 70 bags of rice (50kg), 100 bags of maize (50kg), 50 cartons of Cerelac baby food, 75 jerrycans of cooking oil, 50 cartons of sardines and bottled water, 200 blankets, 200 jerrycans (2L), 150 mosquito nets, 100 pairs of Wellington boots and 100 raincoats.
It said Eezzy Group also donated 178 bags of rice (50kg), 842 bags of rice (2.5kg), 120 cartons of spaghetti, 72 boxes of canned beef, 46 cartons of sardines, 22 cartons of tomato paste and 82 cartons of cooking oil (various sizes), seasoning powders, and baking supplies.
The statement said Tobinco Group donated 100 boxes of Omal antiseptic, 5,000 gallons of Omal liquid soap, and 400 gallons of Omazone bleach whiles Kam Trading & Farms Limited donated 445 bags of 25kg rice.
