New Jerusalem (C/R), Aug. 24, GNA – Bishop Nana Kusi Afram Twiah, Leader of Christ First World Church International, has called on Christian leaders, traditional authorities and teachers to intensify education and campaigns against drug abuse among the youth.
He said drug abuse was destroying the future of many young people, making it incumbent on religious and community leaders, as well as teachers, to take a leading role in the fight against the menace.
Bishop Afram Twiah made the call during a youth forum organised by the Church at New Jerusalem in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District of the Central Region.
The forum was organised to educate young people on the dangers associated with drug abuse and encourage them to make responsible choices for their future.
He urged parents, teachers, traditional leaders and religious bodies to work together to provide continuous education and guidance to young people to prevent them from engaging in drug abuse and other social vices.
The National Youth Leader of Christ First World Church International, Prophetess Mrs Sara Panfo, also advised parents and the youth to use social media responsibly.
She cautioned young people against using social media platforms to insult or disrespect national leaders, traditional authorities and elders, stressing that such behaviour was contrary to Christian values and biblical teachings.
Prophetess Panfo encouraged parents to closely guide their children and support them to use social media positively for education, personal development, and the promotion of peace and respect for all in society.
