Accra, Aug. 16, GNA-The annual National Campus Community Conference have been launched Elevation 2.0, in Accra.
The faith-based gathering is expected to bring together about 5,000 students, academics, and professionals from tertiary institutions across the country.
The conference, organised by the Campus Ministry of the Deeper Life Bible Church, is designed to promote spiritual growth, mentorship, leadership development, and academic excellence among young people.
Speaking at the launch, Pastor Cyril Acquah, Regional Campus Coordinator for Ga Central, said the annual conference had become an important platform for nurturing students and academics through fellowship, counselling, and mentorship.
He said the gathering brings together senior high school graduates preparing for tertiary education, undergraduate and postgraduate students, lecturers, and other members of the academic community to equip them with the knowledge, values, and guidance needed to excel in their academic and professional lives.
Pastor Acquah said the 2025 edition of the conference attracted about 3,300 participants from more than 100 institutions across the country, with several attendees making commitments to the Christian faith and benefiting from mentorship and counselling programmes.
He noted that many participants had since reported improvements in their academic performance, professional careers, and personal lives, describing the conference as a worthwhile investment in youth development.
According to him, the impact of previous editions had encouraged organisers to scale up preparations for this year’s event under the theme: “Rising to Greater Levels.”
He announced that a new venue with the capacity to accommodate 5,000 participants had been secured to cater for growing interest in the conference and to provide improved facilities for attendees.
Pastor Acquah said the conference would also build on the successes of Elevation 2025, which expanded its reach through livestreaming to members and alumni in the diaspora, enabling wider participation beyond Ghana’s borders.
Launching the programme, Prof. Charles Amoatey called for sustained support for initiatives that equip young people with the values, skills, and knowledge needed to make meaningful contributions to society.
He said investing in the development of students and young professionals was essential to building responsible leadership and promoting national development.
The launch programme also featured an address by Pastor Prof. Robert Sowah, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at the University of Ghana, as well as musical performances and media interactions.
