Accra, Aug 5, GNA – The Water Resources Commission has urged the people in communities along the White Volta and adjoining areas to take the necessary precautions to mitigate the impacts of flooding ahead of a planned spillage of Burkina Faso’s Bagre Dam by the operator, SONABEL.
The controlled spillage is expected to start on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, if the reservoir water level should reach 234.00 metres.
A statement issued by the Commission in Accra said, the water level as of Tuesday, August 4, was 232.92 metres and a fill rate of 62.77 per cent.
It also advised that residents adhered to safety guidelines from local Assemblies and the appropriate Agencies.
