Atwima Mponua Bank posts GH¢26.2m profit in 2025

By Florence Afriyie Mensah

Toase (Ash), Aug. 4, GNA – The Atwima Mponua Community Bank PLC recorded a profit before tax of GH¢26.2 million for the 2025 financial year.

The figure represents a 76.22 per cent increase over the previous year’s profit of GH¢14.9 million.

Net interest income also grew by 43.0 per cent to GH¢47.8 million, compared with GH¢33.4 million in 2024, driven by strong growth in interest-earning assets and improved asset-liability management.

Mr John Yaw Gyedu Gyamerah, Board Chairman of the bank, disclosed this at the bank’s 42nd Annual General Meeting held at Toase in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

He described the bank’s current performance indicators as encouraging, noting that total assets stood at GH¢356.0 million at the end of 2025, representing a 32.46 per cent increase over the previous year.

According to him, shareholders’ deposits for the year amounted to GH¢323.3 million, indicating a 26.5 per cent growth over the 2024 financial year.

Mr Gyamerah said the bank’s loan portfolio remained well-diversified across agriculture, trading, transport and other sectors, with individual and private enterprise customers constituting the majority of its lending.

He said the bank had strengthened its credit risk management framework through enhanced collateral requirements, rigorous credit assessment procedures and active monitoring of portfolio performance.

On the bank’s stated capital and capital gap, Mr Gyamerah said the paid-up capital as of December 31, 2025 stood at GH¢2.52 million, compared with GH¢1.89 million in 2024, exceeding the minimum capital requirement of GH¢1.0 million.

He, however, said: “In line with our transformation to Community Bank status and the Bank of Ghana’s evolving capital requirements, we recognised the need to significantly strengthen our capital base to support our growth ambitions and enhanced regulatory expectations.”

He said through a successful share issuance and capital mobilisation exercise, the bank’s stated capital had increased substantially.

As of May 15, 2026, the bank’s stated capital stood at GH¢4,570,913.11, representing an increase of GH¢2.05 million from the December 2025 position.

Mr Gyamerah said although the bank had made significant progress in addressing the capital gap, the need for additional capital injection could not be over-emphasised.

He, therefore, appealed to prospective investors to take up additional shares to further enhance the capital base of the bank.
