Nkroful (W/R), Aug. 27, GNA – The Management of Adamus Resources Limited, a gold prospecting company, has presented educational materials to the first 100 candidates who excelled in the 2025/2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ellembelle District.
The items included 100 chop boxes, 3,000 exercise books and 200 Bic pens to lessen the financial burden on parents as the beneficiaries continued their education at the second-cycle level.
Mr Awumbilla Salifu, a representative of the Public Affairs Department of the company, made the presentation to the Ghana Education Service (GES) on behalf of Management and Madam Angela Dialla Attieh, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adamus Resources Limited, a subsidiary of Nguvu Mining Limited, at Nkroful in the Western Region.
Mr Salifu said the donation formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to ensure that host communities in its catchment area benefited from its operations.
He said quality education and health delivery were critical to holistic development; hence the numerous strategic interventions embarked upon by Madam Attieh to promote education and health.
He mentioned some of the social interventions by Adamus Resources as the annual sponsorship (cash donations) to the Kwame Nkrumah Festival (Nkrumahfest), renovation of the Nyaneba Junior High School block at Nkroful, refurbishment of the maternity ward of the Nkroful clinic and donation of medical equipment, as well as construction of a concrete bridge linking the Nkroful old and new sites.
Others are the reshaping of the Teleku-Bokazo to Salman Road, the donation of solar equipment to the Ellembelle District Assembly, renovation of the GES District Office at Nkroful and renovation of the administration block of the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High Technical School (NASST).
Adamus Resources also continued to be a major sponsor of the District Science and Mathematics quiz competitions.
Mr Salifu said ongoing projects in the Ellembelle District included the construction of an ultra-modern Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Sanwoma (Ankobra) and a five-unit Kindergarten (KG) block for the Catholic Primary School at Nkroful.
He said under the company’s education programme, about 150 students were on its scholarship scheme up to the tertiary level.
Mr Salifu said Adamus Resources could not survive without the development of host communities and would therefore continue to partner the District Assembly and traditional rulers in their development agenda.
He said the donation of chop boxes, pens and exercise books, the first of its kind, would continue every year not only to BECE candidates in host communities but the entire district.
Mr Wilfred Katey Adodoadji, the Ellembelle District Director of Education, who received the items on behalf of the BECE candidates and their parents, said the Directorate had religiously selected the best 100 students who excelled in the 2026 BECE.
He expressed gratitude to the Adamus Resources for the initiative as part of its commitment to support education delivery in the area.
Mr Adodoadji urged parents to invest in the education of their children to enable them to grow up and contribute to the development of the district and the country at large.
He also appealed to the BECE candidates who were being enrolled into Senior High Schools to take their studies seriously to enable them to take up responsible positions in the mining company.
Mr Francis Kwaw Mensah, Assembly Member for the Nkroful Enlunlibo Electoral Area, who is also an employee of Adamus Resources Limited, commended Madam Attieh for the broad social intervention programmes lined up for communities in and out of the company’s catchment area.
He said his office would team up with the CEO of Nguvu Mining Limited and the District Assembly to bring meaningful development to the area.
Mr Mensah, popularly called Hon. Bruce, told the Ghana News Agency on the side-lines that Madam Attieh had rolled out a lot of community initiatives to improve upon the living conditions of people in the mining area.
