Sunyani, (Bono), July 20, GNA-The United Nations Peace Ambassador Foundation (UNPAF) has appointed Alhaji Mohammed Moctari, the Chief of Wangara in Bono, as the Bono Regional Islamic Chieftaincy Commissioner.
The UNPAF is a globally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to advancing global peace, unity, and humanitarian endeavours.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani, Alhaji Moctari said he was highly convinced that he was picked for his exemplary leadership, deep commitment to Islamic values, chieftaincy heritage, peacebuilding, and socio-economic development of local communities.
Among others, he said he was tasked to “strengthen bonds of the brotherhood”, and promote peaceful co-existence, uphold and preserve Islamic values, cultural and chieftaincy heritage, as well as working together for sustainable development and a better future for all communities.
Alhaji Moctari said he was also expected to advance peace, tolerance and harmony in Ghana and across Africa.
He expressed appreciation to the UNPAF and pledged his dedication to work diligently to achieve his mandate and vision for Africa.
Alhaji Moctari also thanked the Muslim community and Ghana in general, saying that he was highly optimistic that with collectiveness and support from Ghanaians his appointment would greatly deepen peace in Africa.
