Aflao (V/R), July 17, GNA — Electricity has been restored to the Akporkploe Health Centre and surrounding communities in the Ketu South Municipality following a prolonged blackout that disrupted healthcare delivery.
The restoration comes hours after the Ghana News Agency (GNA) reported on the outage, which had affected essential medical services and raised concerns among residents and health authorities.
A new transformer has since been installed to replace the faulty one, bringing relief to the community and restoring normal operations at the health facility.
GNA observed that health personnel had resumed full-service delivery, attending to patients under improved conditions.
Mr Mawutor Kpetsigo, Assembly Member for the Akporkploe Electoral Area, expressed appreciation to the media, particularly GNA, and relevant authorities for their swift intervention.
He noted that the timely response had restored hope to residents and ensured the continuity of healthcare services in the area.
The Assembly Member commended stakeholders for prioritising the needs of the community and called for sustained efforts to prevent future occurrences.
Residents have also welcomed the development, describing it as a major relief after days of difficulty due to the power outage.
