Bechem, (Ahafo), July 10, GNA- Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Michael Kolley, Bechem District Police Commander in the Ahafo Region, has advised candidates, their supporters and delegates to conduct themselves in a peaceful and decorous manner as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares to hold its constituency elections.
He said the Police had put in place adequate security measures to ensure the peaceful conduct of the elections scheduled for Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, 2026.
The NPP delegates are expected to elect various constituency executives as part of the party’s preparations towards Election 2028.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality, ASP Kolley stressed that the Police would not tolerate acts of lawlessness that could undermine the prevailing peace in the municipality.
He said the Police were fully prepared to maintain law and order before, during and after the elections to ensure a smooth electoral process.
“Our mandate is to protect everybody and ensure the peaceful conduct of the constituency elections,” ASP Kolley stated.
He urged candidates and their supporters to exercise restraint and comport themselves appropriately to avoid any actions that could lead to disturbances or breaches of the peace.
ASP Kolley also appealed to delegates and party supporters to comply strictly with the rules and regulations governing the elections.
