Nana Kadongo III expresses appreciation to gov’t for absorbing Bawia Technical Institute into TVET Service

Takoradi, July 6, GNA-Nana Blawey Kadongo III, the Divisional Chief of Bawia, in the Western Region, has commended the government for absorbing the Bawia Technical Institute into the Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) service beginning the 2026/2027 academic year. 

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Takoradi, the Chief said the institution had been abandoned over 22 years, negatively affecting the good people of Nzemaland and Bawia community.  

He stated that the long-awaited recognition of the Institute’s critical role in skills and capacity training for the youth) was, therefore, a moment of great joy and hope for the community, Nzema Maanle, and Western Region as a whole. 

Nana Kadongo III noted that achievement affirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening TVET, and empowering the youth with employable skills, technical know-how, and capacity building needed for the world of work.  

He said the institute would open new opportunities for young people and the youth to gain employable skills into local industries and contribute to national development. 

He expressed the hope that the integration would open doors for improved infrastructure, quality training, and better opportunities for the youth, and the good people of Nzemaland and Western Region. 

Nana Kadongo III assured the government and all stakeholders of their full support and cooperation as the Institute moved forward under the Ghana TVET Service for a brighter future.
