Accra, July 7, GNA – Mangel Klicks Limited, a Ghanaian healthcare technology company, has partnered with Eastwood Park Training, a United Kingdom-based healthcare engineering training institution, to deliver internationally accredited clinical engineering training in Ghana, Nigeria, Botswana and Mauritius.
The initiative seeks to strengthen healthcare systems by building the technical capacity of biomedical engineers and positioning Ghana as a regional hub for clinical engineering education and professional development.
The partnership will equip biomedical engineers with internationally recognised competencies in the installation, maintenance, calibration, testing and lifecycle management of medical equipment.
Participants will also receive practical training to restore abandoned or non-functional medical devices, undertake preventive maintenance, conduct electrical safety testing and manage risks in line with international healthcare engineering standards.
The programme is expected to reduce equipment downtime, improve the availability of life-saving medical devices, strengthen patient safety, lower maintenance costs and enhance healthcare delivery across participating countries.
A key component of the partnership is the development and certification of African trainers.
Qualified trainers will receive internationally recognised City & Guilds UK certification through Eastwood Park Training, enabling them to deliver globally accredited clinical engineering programmes locally.
The collaboration will offer specialist courses in medical device maintenance and calibration, health and safety management, medical gas pipeline systems, decontamination and sterilisation, hospital lifts and vertical transportation systems, electrical systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), water safety and estates management.
Speaking on the partnership, the organisations reaffirmed their commitment to improving healthcare engineering standards across the continent.
