Mama Bobi III donates laptops to schools in Ho

Accra, July 30, GNA- Mama Bobi III, the Queenmother of Ho Bakoe in the Asogli State of the Volta Region, has presented laptops to selected schools in the Ho Municipality to enhance ICT skills among young pupils. 

The donation, which comprises 150 Lenovo ThinkPads and 50 desktop computers, was secured through partnerships with distinguished Ghanaians during her visit to the United Nations in 2025. 

During the initial phase of the distribution, 70 Lenovo ThinkPads were handed over to the beneficiary schools. 

The beneficiary institutions include Sonrise Senior High School, Kabore School complex, R.C Primary School (both Mixed and Girls’ sections), E.P Primary School, and LIFE-MAC Africa. 

LIFE-MAC Africa was specifically selected due to its outstanding Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) initiatives across the region. 

Mama Bobi III noted that the acquisition of the items was not “merely a transaction of technology,” but a greater and better strategic investment in the future of the beneficiary children. 

She underscored the necessity for digital literacy for youth development, characterising it as a critical driver of individual and collective advancement. 

Mama Bobi III, who is also a judge, said the initiative was aimed at bridging the digital divide that often-disadvantaged learners in rural communities. 

“As a Queenmother to this land, I carry no greater joy than knowing that our children are being equipped, empowered, and embraced. Their education is our legacy. Their success is our crown,” she said. 

The Queenmother urged beneficiary educational institutions to maximise the use of the laptops to transform the academic fortunes of students in the region. 

She urged them to cultivate high maintenance culture, establishing strict care protocols so that future batches of students could benefit from the items. 

She reaffirmed her lifelong commitment to championing educational advancement in the area, promising to continuously seek resources that prepare the youth for global opportunities. 

Heads and managements of the beneficiary institutions thanked Mama Bobi for her continuous commitment to education, describing the donation as a timely intervention. 

Madam Dorothy Korkor Acheampong, the Headmistress of Kabore School Complex, lauded the queenmother, saying: “your remarkable act of love and commitment to education has touched our hearts deeply and will leave a lasting impact on generations of pupils.”
