Dambai (O/R) July 12, GNA – Mr Samuel Yaw Owusu, the newly elected Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Krachi East, has pledged to unite all members of the party, including his competitors, to strengthen the party ahead of future political activities.

Mr Owusu gave the assurance shortly after he was officially declared winner of the constituency chairman election, held at Asukawkaw Senior High School in the Krachi East Municipality.

He secured 534 votes to emerge victorious, defeating his closest contender, Mr Vincent Mensah, who polled 375 votes while Mr Etse Agbenyo garnered 87 votes.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the declaration of results, Mr Owusu expressed gratitude to the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to serve the constituency with humility, transparency and dedication.

He emphasised that the election was an internal democratic exercise and that there should be no winners or losers, stressing that the party could only achieve its objectives through unity and collective effort.

“I will reach out to all the aspirants who contested this election because we are one family. It is time to put the contest behind us and work together to build a stronger and more united NPP in the Krachi East Constituency,” he said.

Mr Owusu appealed to party members to close their ranks, bury their differences and support the newly elected constituency executives to reposition the party for future electoral victories.

He further assured the rank and file of the party that his administration would operate an open-door policy by engaging all stakeholders, promoting inclusiveness and ensuring that every member had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the constituency.

The chairman-elect also called on party faithful to remain committed to the ideals of the NPP and intensify grassroots mobilisation to enhance the party’s fortunes in the constituency.

The constituency election formed part of the NPP’s nationwide exercise to elect constituency executives to steer the affairs of the party at the local level.
