Kintampo (Bono East), July 28, GNA – Mr Martin Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Kintampo Rural Bank in the Bono East Region, says the bank has made significant investments in healthcare, education, agriculture, and community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme within its operational area.
He said the bank had rehabilitated the Kintampo Divisional Police Armoury and constructed mechanised boreholes at Yipala, Kintampo and several adjoining communities to improve access to clean water.
Mr Mensah added that the bank sponsored special awards for the best female and physically challenged farmers during the 41st Farmers’ Day celebrations in six municipalities and districts in the region in 2025.
He noted that the bank had also constructed several classroom blocks to support education and improve learning conditions for schoolchildren.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kintampo, Mr Mensah said the interventions were aimed at improving the livelihoods of people within the bank’s operational areas.
He said as the bank prepared to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2026, it remained committed to providing quality financial services to its customers and supporting community development initiatives.
Mr Mensah described the bank’s recent financial performance as exceptional, citing significant growth in assets, deposits, investments, loans and profitability.
He said the bank’s total assets increased by 138 per cent, rising from GH¢55.09 million in 2020 to GH¢131.06 million in 2024.
According to him, customer deposits grew by 172 per cent from GH¢39.45 million in 2020 to GH¢107.47 million in 2024, driven by a strong deposit mobilisation strategy.
Mr Mensah said the bank’s investment portfolio also expanded by 101 per cent, increasing from GH¢32.24 million in 2021 to GH¢64.90 million in 2024.
He added that loans and advances rose by 216 per cent from GH¢14.05 million in 2021 to GH¢44.43 million in 2024.
The bank’s equity, he said, increased by 87 per cent from GH¢10.90 million in 2021 to GH¢20.40 million in 2024, further strengthening its financial position.
Mr Mensah stated that pre-tax profit surged by 613 per cent from GH¢1.44 million in 2021 to GH¢10.29 million in 2024, while profit after tax remained strong at GH¢6.94 million in 2024.
He said the bank would continue to introduce innovative products and services to meet the evolving needs of customers and deliver excellent financial services.
He underscored that the bank’s outstanding performance had earned it recognition from the Ghana Club 100, the CENBA Africa Business Excellence Awards and the Ghana Financial Intermediation Awards.
