Dzodze (V/R), July 20, GNA – Coordinators of the Ketu North Skills and Apprenticeship Programme (KN-SAP) have begun distributing sewing machines, hairdryers and other vocational tools to apprentices enrolled on the programme.
The exercise forms part of the programme’s commitment to equipping beneficiaries with the resources needed to complete their training and establish sustainable livelihoods.
The porogramme is an initiative established by Mr Eric Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North.
The MP said the tools were being presented to apprentices after they had successfully completed at least three months of practical training, in line with the programme’s implementation plan.
He disclosed that 525 apprentices are currently enrolled under the initiative, with all beneficiaries having their apprenticeship fees fully paid by the programme.
In addition to the payment of training fees, the beneficiaries had received cash support to facilitate their training, while the distribution of learning tools had now commenced to enhance their practical skills and prepare them for self-employment.
“This initiative gives us the opportunity to invest directly in our people by equipping them with sustainable means of livelihood and empowering them to become economically independent,” Mr Agbana said.
He expressed appreciation to the zonal coordinators of the programme for their commitment and hard work in ensuring the smooth implementation of the initiative across the constituency.
The Ketu North Skills and Apprenticeship Programme forms part of Mr Agbana’s broader agenda to tackle youth unemployment, promote vocational and technical skills development, and support entrepreneurship among young people in the constituency.
