Gunu calls for united front to unlock region’s agricultural potential

By Caleb Kuleke, GNA

Ho, July 27, GNA – Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, has called for a collective effort to market the region’s vast economic potential, identifying agriculture as the ultimate solution to youth unemployment.

He said the region possessed rich, unexploited agricultural resources capable of transforming the local economy, requiring a deliberate concerted effort to showcase these resources for foreign and some investment.

Mr Gunu made the remarks during a courtesy call by the Founder of Advert Tower, Mr Victor Atsu Sedzro, led by the Volta Regional Director of Agriculture, William Dzemefe, to formally introduce a new project dubbed “Invest in Volta,” which the Organisation wanted to undertake in the area.

The Minister noted that strategic investments in the sector would unlock sustainable job opportunities and secure the future of the younger generation.

Mr Sedzro told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the new project was dedicated entirely to unlocking and promoting agricultural investments across the region.

He stated that the region was endowed in immense agricultural potential, yet remained largely unlocked due to a lack of awareness

Mr Sedzro said the primary objective of the initiative was to strategically market these abundant resources to the global community to attract vital investment.

He assured the public of exceptional execution, noting that the project will leverage both digital platforms and traditional media channels, including television, to achieve high-quality results.

Mr Dzemefe also underscored the importance of digital platforms such as the GNA in showcasing the region’s economic potential.
