GACL to close Terminal Three car park for redevelopment

Accra, July 19, GNA – The Ghana Airports Company Limited will close the Terminal Three car park at the Accra International Airport from July 20 for redevelopment.

The closure will facilitate construction of a seven-storey multi-purpose car park and airport hotel complex, while an alternative parking facility will serve airport users during the project.

The GACL announced the closure in a statement, saying the redevelopment formed part of efforts to expand airport infrastructure and improve services at the country’s main international gateway.

The Company said it had completed the Terminal Three Car Park Annex to ensure uninterrupted parking services during construction.

The facility has capacity for more than 600 vehicles.

It said parking attendants would be deployed to direct motorists and other airport users into and out of the annex.

GACL said measures had been put in place to maintain smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience to passengers, visitors and other airport users during the transition.

The Company appealed to motorists to cooperate with officials, comply with directions from parking attendants and allow additional travel time when travelling to the airport.

The statement said the seven-storey development will provide additional parking capacity and incorporate an airport hotel to enhance passenger convenience.

The project forms part of GACL’s broader infrastructure development programme to improve facilities at the Accra International Airport.

GACL reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe, efficient and customer-focused airport services and said it would continue to update the public on the project’s progress.
