Sunyani, (Bono), July 20, GNA-Some former women organisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region has pledged their unflinching support to aspirant Hajia Samira Sulley in her bid to become the party’s Bono Regional Women’s Organiser.
Drawn from Sunyani East, Berekum East, Jaman South and Dormaa East, they promised to join and intensify the campaign and canvass for more votes in ensuring that the aspirant wins the position in the upcoming Regional Executive Election of the party.
The women organisers gave the pledge when Hajia Sulley engaged them at a meeting in Sunyani to market herself, her vision and to canvas for their votes.
According to the women organisers, they were extremely grateful for that engagement, saying that since 2008 no woman organiser or woman organiser hopeful of the party had given them the required recognition.
They expressed concern that the women’s wing of the party had neglected them in the conduct of the NPP’s political activities in the region.
Nana Felecia Adomah Peprah, a former women’s organiser of the party and spokesperson, expressed appreciation to the aspirant for the meeting.
She said now that the aspirant was ready to rope them in the party’s political activities, they would work diligently and do their best, not only to ensure that the aspirant won the position, but also the NPP to regain political power in the Election 2028.
Nana Peprah noted that the NPP’s women’s active role in electioneering could not be underestimated if the desire was to come back to political power.
Hajia Sulley said she was highly excited about the warm reception from the former women organisers and urged them to rally solidly behind her.
She pledged to mobilise women at the grassroots, canvass female votes for the party, and champion women’s socio-economic and political interests too.
Hajia Sulley emphasised that the women’s wing of the party served as a critical bridge between the party’s leadership and female voters.
“In fact, leadership isn’t about being in front but it’s about lifting others along the way,” she stated. and pledged to enhance women’s welfare and promote their interest in the political activities of the party.
