Sege, July 27, GNA – The Children’s and Redeemers Movement (CRM) of The Divine Healers Church (TDHC), Greater Accra Region ‘B’/Volta, has climaxed its week-long 26th anniversary celebration with a call on Christians, especially the younger generation, to embrace Christlike values and godly living.
The celebration, held at Sege, brought together more than 5,000 children, parents, church leaders and members from six districts across the region.
The programme featured Bible recitals, gospel preaching, worship sessions and other activities aimed at nurturing children and young people in the Christian faith.
Fifteen-year-old Miss Nunekpeku Edina from the Anyamam District delivered a sermon on the theme, “Amazing Love,” based on John 15:13.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after her sermon, she said she was adequately prepared through a series of lessons and rehearsals organised by teachers in the various church branches.
She urged Christians to emulate the sacrificial love demonstrated by Jesus Christ by showing kindness and compassion in their daily lives.
Reverend Emmanuel Narteh Tokornyor, Regional Pastor of TDHC, described the anniversary celebration as one of the most successful programmes organised by the movement in recent years.
Rev Tokornyor said early Christian upbringing played a vital role in shaping responsible adults and future church leaders.
“When children are nurtured in Christ from an early age, it becomes easier for them to uphold Christian values and continue the legacy of the Church,” he said.
Pastor Samuel Apafloe, one of the pioneer preachers of the CRM conventions, encouraged children and redeemers to remain obedient to their parents, teachers and church leaders.
He also advised parents to provide proper guidance for their children, especially at a time when artificial intelligence and digital technologies were rapidly influencing the lives of young people.
Pastor Oswald Emmanuel K. Amanartey, Regional Coordinator of the CRM, said organising the week-long programme had been challenging but rewarding.
He disclosed that the leadership was considering plans to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the committee responsible for coordinating the Children’s and Redeemers Movement, which has existed for 38 years.
Mr Prince Samuel Asante Darko, National Chairman of TDHC, commended teachers and coordinators for their dedication and sacrifices in mentoring the children.
He urged the children to remain vigilant, respectful and committed to learning both in school and church.
Mr Michael Tetteh Doetse and Madam Angela Maade Agudey, CRM teachers who spoke to the GNA, expressed satisfaction with the success of the anniversary celebration, saying the programme had strengthened the children’s spiritual and moral development.
They said the movement combined biblical teachings with practical life lessons to prepare the children for the future.
They added that instructors were trained to teach children according to their developmental stages to ensure they understood and embraced the word of God.
The teachers indicated that career guidance sessions were also incorporated into the programme to help children identify and develop their talents from an early age.
They appealed to parents to make their children available for church training sessions, rehearsals, and educational activities to enhance their spiritual growth and personal development.
