Accra, July 19, GNA – Ghanaian sprinter and Team Ghana Athletics captain Joseph Paul Amoah has donated a pair of racing spikes to para-athlete Hayford Addae ahead of 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
The gesture comes as Addae prepares for his events at the Games, with Amoah saying he wanted to ensure a fellow Ghanaian athlete prepares well for the games.
“We wear the same national colours and carry the same flag. If I can help a teammate compete with confidence, then it is the right thing to do. We succeed together as Team Ghana,” Amoah said.
Addae thanked Amoah for the support, describing the donation as a timely boost to his preparations for competition.
He was also hopeful of putting on a good show at the games as he targets a place on the podium.
The presentation underscored efforts within Team Ghana to promote unity and mutual support among athletes representing the country at the multi-sport event.
Addae is expected to compete wearing the new spikes as Ghana looks to win more medal at the upcoming Commonwealth Games which starts on July 23, 2026.
