Sokode-Gbogame, June 14, GNA – Three persons sustained various degrees of injuries following a collision involving a Toyota RAV4 and a motorbike at Sokode Gbogame in the Ho Municipality.
The accident occurred at about 1455 hours on Saturday June 13, at a U-turn junction near the Eli International School intersection, at the end of the dual carriageway.
General Sergeant Bright Kpanazo of the Regional Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), said Police received information about the accident and promptly proceeded to the scene for investigations and traffic management.
At the scene, officers found a Toyota RAV4 private vehicle with registration number GT 4869-24, driven by Mr Geoffrey Nartey, 46, with damage to its offside front door and deployed airbags.
They also found a Sanya motorbike with registration number M-12-GR 2135, ridden by Mr Edo Ahiadzi, 56, who was carrying two pillion riders. The motorbike sustained extensive damage to its front portion.
Police observed blood stains at the scene and marked vital spots to facilitate further investigations and measurements.
Mr Nartey was issued with a Police Medical Report Form to seek medical attention.
Enquiries at the Ho Municipal Hospital revealed that the motorcyclist, Mr Ahiadzi, suffered fractures to both legs.
One of the pillion riders, Mr Cephas Adatse, 46, sustained a fractured left leg, while the second pillion rider, Mr Dovlo Gershon, 56, did not suffer visible injuries but complained of neck pains.
Hospital authorities said all the injured persons were in stable condition and responding to treatment.
The accident vehicle and motorbike have since been towed from the scene and impounded by the Police.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash.
