Sunyani, (Bono), June 16, GNA – A cross section of the public in the Sunyani Municipality have expressed varied opinions over the alleged sexual misconduct between a teacher and a female student of the Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has since interdicted the teacher in connection with the sexual misconduct which had gone viral in social media, as investigation continued.
Reacting, the residents described the sex video as unfortunate and unacceptable and demanded punitive sanctions for the teacher and the student to serve as a deterrent to like-minded others.
Mr Agya Oppong, a resident at the Sunyani Night Market, condemned the teacher’s action and called on the GES to revoke his license.
He suggested that the student involved also ought to be sanctioned severely, worrying that the level of student indiscipline in SHSs was becoming too much.
“We should blame the teacher alone because the female students are also tempting and sometimes responsible for those unacceptable sexual behaviour,” Madam Abena Gladys, a trader stated.
She expressed concern about indecent dressing among some of the female students and advised teachers to control and tame their sexual desires.
Mrs Stella Adubea, another trader also described the sex video as embarrassing and urged families to ensure the proper upbringing and development of their girls.
“Some of these girls are spoiled from their homes and go to school to tempt and trouble their teachers,” she added.
