Saudi Arabia reports crashed missile fired from Yemen

Beirut, June 8, (dpa/GNA) – The Saudi Defence Ministry said on Monday, that a ballistic missile fired from Yemen had been launched in the direction of a “regional state”, but veered off course and landed in an uninhabited area near the Saudi-Yemeni border.

The ministry said technical problems initially led to inaccurate assessments of the actual target of the attack.

The Houthi militia in Yemen, which is allied with Iran, claimed responsibility for an attack on Israel on Monday morning for the first time in several weeks.

The group’s military spokesman, Yahya Sari, said the militia had fired several missiles at Israel.
