Bechem-Toronto, (Ahafo), June 16, GNA-The Reverend Frimpong Boadu, Head Pastor of the Bechem-Toronto Victory Baptist Church in the Tano South Municipality of the Ahafo Region has urged Ghanaians to rise against same-sex marriage, else, it will end procreation.
He said same-sex marriage is not only devilish but an abomination to God.
Rev Boadu said the practice was alien to Ghana’s culture and traditions and should be rejected by faith-based organisations and Ghanaians in general.
He gave the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on the sidelines of a thanksgiving service to climax the 2026 Annual Association Conference of the Women Missionary Union (WMU) of the Church at Bechem-Toronto.
The Sunyani Association of the Ghana Baptist Convention (GBC) organised the three-day conference on the theme: “Glorious Woman: Reflecting Christ to your Community.”
Rev Boadu emphasised that God instituted marriage between man and woman for pro-creation, asking that: “How can we procreate through same-sex marriage.”
“When men marry men, and women marry women, how can we reproduce and multiply the earth as enjoined in the bible,” he added.
Rev Boadu commended women for allowing themselves to be used as vessels for reproduction, provision and protection for the survival of humanity.
He urged Christians and Ghanaians in general to pray for the nation to obtain God’s mercies and prosperity, urging them to stand and advocate against same-sex marriage in their respective communities.
Sister Janet Lamisi, the President of the WMU, Sunyani Association called on members and other Christian women to demonstrate Christ-like attitudes in their homes, communities and workplaces.
She said living holy and exemplary lives would attract many people to God’s kingdom and help transform lives.
The thanksgiving service was attended by Mr Charles Asiedu, the Member of Parliament for Tano South, Mr Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Tano South Municipal Chief Executive and Mr Stephen Tiah Adams, the Tano North Municipal Director of Education.
