Ho, June 13, GNA-The Leadership of the Millennium Supporters’ Union of Ghana (MISUGHA), Volta Regional Chapter, has expressed profound gratitude to the public who graced the official launch of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Village Initiative at Agortime-Ziope.
The stakeholders, guests, traditional authorities, government officials, security agencies, media partners, football enthusiasts, and members of the public.
Mr Frank Adzigbli, the Regional Secretary of the union, indicated that the overwhelming turnout by fans reflected a shared commitment to promoting unity, youth engagement, peaceful coexistence, and community development through football.
“The encouragement and goodwill extended by attendees contribute immensely to making the launch a memorable and historic occasion,” he said.
He explained that the MISUGHA’s event has set a strong foundation for the successful rollout of the World Cup Village Initiative across selected communities in the Volta Region.
He mentioned that the union has extended special appreciation to sponsors, partners, and individuals who contributed time, resources, expertise, and logistical support to ensure that the launch was smooth and successful.
“We really appreciate everybody who supported us, they demonstrate the spirit of partnership that continues to define the organisation’s work in the region.”
Mr Adzigli stated that the union also expressed gratitude to traditional authorities and chiefs who graced the occasion and stated that their support and blessings would remain critical to community-based initiatives.
He also commended the security agencies that ensured a peaceful and secure atmosphere throughout the launch for their professionalism and vigilance.
Media partners who such Ghana News Agency, among others who covered, and the activities of the union were equally recognised for amplifying the message of the World Cup Village Initiative to a wider audience.
The Union further stated that effective media coverage remained essential to building public awareness and support for the initiative across the region.
They stressed that the success of the initiative would depend largely on sustained goodwill and active participation of the entire Volta Region community.
The World Cup Village Initiative is expected to provide a platform for residents to view matches in a unified, organised, and family-friendly environment while promoting youth development and social cohesion.
GNA also gathered that special thanks went to Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, who also attended the ceremony and supported the Union with GHS10,000.
