Livorno, 14 June, 2026(Red-Cro/Adnkronos/GNA) – A woman has reported a group of adults to the Police,for threatening a twelve year old girl.
According to the complaint, a woman allegedly intimidated the little girl for her clothing and for refusing to adhere to religious prescriptions
“Be careful otherwise we’ll kill you and show you us.” An alleged death threat against a 12-year-old girl was reported to police by a woman originally from Bangladesh living in Livorno.
The story, reported today by the newspaper “Il Tirreno”, took place in the late afternoon of last Saturday, in the public area of the Parterre. According to the mother in the lawsuit filed in the police station, the daughter was approached and reproached by a group of adults of Bangladeshi origin, while she was with some peers.
In particular, a woman, indicated by the complainant as a regular user of the burqa, would have challenged the twelve-year-old for non-compliance with Islamic religious prescriptions related to clothing and behavior.
In the lawsuit, the woman also claims that the alleged perpetrator would be part of a group, committed to promoting strict observance of religious precepts among countrymen residing in the territory.
The mother also reports that the reported incident would not have been an isolated incident, but the latest in a series of approaches aimed at her daughter. The woman highlights in the complaint that her husband is Muslim while she is Hindu and that the couple would choose to leave their daughter the freedom to decide their own religious path in the future.
The investigation of the State Police, to which the complaint was formally filed, is ongoing.
