Hohoe (V/R), June 13, GNA – The Hohoe Municipal Assembly has engaged its four Zonal Councils to deepen governance at the local level and to strengthen the work of Zonal Council in the Municipality.
They were Gbi South, Alavanyo, Hohoe, and Agumatsa Zonal Councils.
Mr Wisdom Kporngor, Hohoe Municipal Coordinator Director, said meeting the substructures was to energise them to effectively function as expected by listening to some of the challenges that they were facing.
He said the Assembly and the executives of the substructures could deliberate and then find solutions to the problem because the Councils needed to work because they were part of the Assembly that stretched.
Mr Kporngor said it was expected that after the meeting, the Councils would be properly reconstituted and then quickly make sure their quarterly meetings were held as well as their revenue mobilization efforts enhanced.
He said the meeting would also refresh the Councils on their functions, and the expectation was that they would revamp or start what they were supposed to do as required of them.
Mr Kporngor said apart from the administrative support that the Councils receive in terms of logistics, they were also supported to undertake some of the development agenda that the Assembly executed through leading the process in their respective areas.
Mr Rafiu Adams, Presiding Member, Hohoe Municipal Assembly, appealed to the Assembly members to support the various Councils in their electoral areas to function properly.
