Nkwanta (O/R), June 26, GNA- Mr Stephen Yomoh, the Assistant Manager in charge of Electrical Wiring, Energy Commission, Ghana, has called on all electricians across the country to obtain the required licenses and permits before engaging in electrical installation works.

He said licensing electricians would strengthen professionalism within the industry and help ensure that electrical works were carried out according to approved standards and safety regulations.

Mr Yomoh was speaking with the Ghana News Agency during a working visit to the Oti Region, particularly the Nkwanta South Municipality, where he encouraged local electricians on the importance of acquiring permits from the Commission before operating.

He explained that properly trained and licensed electricians well-equipped to undertake quality wiring installations, reducing the risk of electrical faults, fire outbreaks, and damage to property.

He noted that many fire incidents were linked to poor electrical wiring and the use of unqualified personnel for electrical installations.

He encouraged electricians in the area to regularise their operations by obtaining the necessary certification and licenses from the Energy Commission.

He stressed that adherence to professional standards would not only protect lives and property but also enhance public confidence in the electrical services sector.
