Accra, June 15, GNA – President John Dramani Mahama has formally accepted the resignation of Dr Bossman Asare, a Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC) in-charge of Corporate Affairs, effective July 31, 2026.

This is to enable Dr Asare to resume work as an academia at the University of Ghana, whereas Mr Samuel Tettyey, a Deputy Chairperson of the EC in-charge of Operations, has attained the retirement age.

This was disclosed by Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the Presidential Spokesman and Minister of State in-charge of Government Communications during a press conference at the Presidency in Accra.

He said the President had already nominated someone for Mr Tettey’s replacement, which was before the Council of State for consideration.

He assured Ghanaians that the President would soon take steps to ensure the replacement of Dr Asare.
