Sunyani, (Bono), June 21, GNA-Dr Freda Prempeh, the Founder of the Ultimate Women Foundation (UWF), a Non-governmental Organisation has urged fathers to strive living exemplary lives and build godly homes as well.
She said the UWF works to empower indigenous women to know their worth and contribute meaningfully to societal development.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani to mark Father’s Day, Dr Prempeh, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tano North Constituency stressed that fatherhood remained a divine call.
She emphasised that the role of fathers in spiritual development as well as the proper upbringing of their children remained unparalleled, saying that father’s ought to serve as role models in the family.
Dr Prempeh, also a former Minister of State, highlighted the role of fathers in the family set up, urging them to guide their wives and children in whatever decision they made in life.
She emphasised that it was the responsibility of Christian fathers to lead their families in morning and evening devotion and thereby deepen the family’s relationship with God.
Nonetheless, Dr Prempeh commended some fathers for their tirelessness in meeting the needs of their families and building a future for their wives and children.
She advised fathers who shirked their responsibilities to change their attitudes and endeavour to provide the needs of the families.
She said responsible fatherhood required that fathers provide shelter, food and necessities of life to their families.
Dr Prempeh reminded it would be challenging for fathers to prosper if they denied their families those basic needs of life.
