Ahafo Region: Minister inspects construction works on NDC legacy projects

Goaso, (Ahafo), June 4, GNA-Mrs Charity Gardener, the Minister for Ahafo Region, has inspected construction work on the some legacy projects of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Asunafo North Municipality of the region. 
 
The legacy projects are physical infrastructure projects initiated by the NDC in 2016 but abandoned by the previous administration of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). 
 
 Accompanied by Mr Joseph Akparibo, the Asunafo North Municipal Chief Executive, the Regional Minister inspected the progress of work on the construction of the Goaso Market, the Municipal Assembly office building and the King Faisal Kindergarten Block projects at Goaso. 
 
Other projects include construction of a girls’ toilet at the Mim Senior High School, 12-unit classroom block at the Mpomaze Anglican school as well as the Fiako Community-based Planning Service Compound (CHPS) and a six-unit classroom block project at Abeberese. 
 
Mrs Gardener also inspected the level of works of the construction of the Dechem CHPS compound, three-unit classroom block at the Bobkrom Islamic school. 
 
In an interview with the media, the Regional Minister stressed the government’s dedication in ensuring that construction works on all the abandoned NDC legacy projects in the area were resumed and completed. 
 
Mrs Gardener said that the government had prioritized education, health and sanitation as well as agriculture and road sectors, assuring that those sectors would be improved to better the quality of life of the people. 
 
In another interview, Mr Akparibo said the government was putting several interventions in place to better the livelihood of the people. 
 
He commended the contractors executing those development projects in the area, saying that work had resumed the construction of 27 NDC’s legacy projects in the municipality. 
 
Additionally, he said nine of such projects had also been completed, ready for commissioning and expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for his dedication to facilitate the development of the municipality and the Ahafo region.
