Accra, June 24, GNA – The Africa-China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) has commenced a 12-week weekend intensive training programme in Accra for a cross-section of journalists on the Ghana – China Media Fellowship, 2026.
The participants, drawn from the print, radio, television, and online media, were selected from among competitors of the Ghana-China Media Fellowship (GCMF) 2026.
Mr Paul Frimpong, the Executive Director of ACCPA, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the fellowship aimed at improving relationships and shaping policies between Ghana and China regarding international partnerships.
“It will build a growing community of media professionals that will understand what our country is doing with China, ask critical questions to our policymakers, and build that community,” he said.
Topics to be treated within the period include understanding China’s historical development from its ancient civilization to a modern-day global power, and the key factors behind China’s economic transformation, including market reforms.
The rest are China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, the Future of High-Quality Development focusing on China’s development priorities, ethical and responsible reporting on international partnerships, and an industrial tour.
The ACCPA is a Sino-African research and policy think tank headquartered in Accra, Ghana.
It functions as a neutral bridge between African policymakers, Chinese stakeholders, and local communities, focusing on evidence-based research, strategic advisory, and capacity building.
