10 killed in Israeli strikes across Lebanon

BEIRUT, June 11 (Xinhua/GNA) — Ten people were killed and several others injured, in a series of Israeli attacks across southern and eastern Lebanon on Thursday, according to Lebanese official and medical sources.

One person was killed and 17 others injured, including 10 nurses and hospital staff, in an Israeli airstrike targeting a residential building near a hospital in the southern coastal city of Tyre, local sources said.

Four people were killed in an Israeli strike on the southern town of Al-Abbassiyeh, while two others died in a separate strike on the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, according to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

Elsewhere in southern Lebanon, an Israeli drone strike targeted a motorcycle on the main road in the town of Habboush, killing its rider, the agency said.

In eastern Lebanon, two people were killed in separate Israeli strikes, one in Sohmor in the western Bekaa region and the other near Nahle outside Baalbek, according to the NNA.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah said it carried out a series of drone attacks against Israeli military targets in southern Lebanon.

The Emergency Operations Center of Lebanon’s Public Health Ministry, said in a statement that the cumulative toll from Israeli attacks between March 2 and June 11 reached 3,711 dead and 11,483 injured.
