Accra, May 9, GNA—The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Wa East, Dr. Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has released GH₵75,000 from his share of the Common Fund to support emergency road works across the Constituency.
The funds presented to the Wa East District Assembly were earmarked for fueling grader machines under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) and for opening up critical roads to improve accessibility.
A statement issued by Dr. Jasaw, the MP to the Ghana News Agency on Saturday said.
Mr Adamu Sayibu, the District Chief Executive, who received the cheque on behalf of the Assembly, thanked Dr. Jasaw for his continuous collaboration and commitment to the district’s development.
“The money will be used for its intended purpose to help open up some critical roads and tackle emergency repair works,” it assured, adding that the intervention will improve road accessibility and accelerate development in Wa East.
According to the statement, Dr. Jasaw’s donation comes at a time when many communities in the Constituency face challenges with road access, especially during the rainy season.
It noted that the support was expected to enhance the movement of people, goods, and services and boost economic activity across Wa East.
“The MP has consistently prioritised infrastructure and road improvement as part of his development agenda for the constituency,” the statement said.
