Accra, May 26, GNA – Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has arrived in Georgetown to participate in the celebrations marking Guyana’s 60th Independence Anniversary.
A statement issued by the Office of the Vice President said she was received by Mr Nii Amasah Namoale, Ghana’s Ambassador to Brazil with concurrent accreditation to Guyana and his team, as well as Mr Charles Ramson, the Guyanese Minister for Culture, Youth, and Sport.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang was also warmly welcomed by a section of the Ghanaian community.
The Vice President noted that she looks forward to joining the Government and people of Guyana in commemorating this important national milestone, while reaffirming the longstanding bonds of friendship and cooperation between their countries.
