Accra, May 14, GNA – The Ghana Shippers’ Authority (GSA) has announced that the implementation of the reviewed Container Administrative Charge (CAC), originally scheduled for May 1, 2026, has been deferred to July 1, 2026, following the intervention of the Minister of Transport.
A statement from the GSA copied to the Ghana News Agency said the extension is to allow for comprehensive stakeholder consultations and strategic engagements to ensure that the final fee structure reflects the interests of all parties.
Pending the final determination in July, the Minister has directed an immediate regulatory cap on the Container Administrative Charge.
Effective immediately, the charge shall not exceed GHS 720 per Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) for both import and export containers.
The Authority has urged all stakeholders in the shipping industry to take note of the directive and ensure full compliance.
