Surveyor Asare, TDC win Africa valuation honours

Accra, May 7, GNA – Surveyor Kojo Nutifafa Asare and Tema Development Corporation (TDC) Ghana Ltd have been recognised at the 2nd Annual Africa Valuation Excellence Awards (AVEA) in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The awards, held on April 15, 2026, formed part of the 4th Africa Valuation Conference (AVC), which celebrated excellence, ethical practice and contributions to economic development across the continent.

TDC Ghana Ltd, a corporate member of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS), was named Valuation Firm of the Year for setting what organisers described as the “gold standard” in valuation practice.

At the centre of the recognition was Surveyor Asare, former Senior Estates Officer at TDC and now Deputy Head of Estate Management at the State Housing Company Limited (SHC).

His professional contributions and leadership in estate management were acknowledged as instrumental to the corporation’s success and industry impact.

Ghana secured multiple honours at the AVEA ceremony, including Country of the Year and the Excellence in Property Valuation award, topping the 2026 African valuation index.

The Ghana Institution of Surveyors was also named Best Voluntary Institution promoting valuation practice in Africa.

The 4th Africa Valuation Conference, held from April 14 to 16 at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Sandton, was themed “Shaping Africa’s Valuation Future: Insights, Credibility and Impact.”

It emphasised integrating Environmental, Social and Governance considerations into valuation processes.

Presentations were delivered by Ms Thembeka Mahooa of Pareto Limited, Ms Tasneem Van Schalk of Broll Valuation and Advisory Services, Mr Andile Mnguni of Dube TradePort SEZ, and Mr Kura Chihota.

Mr Mostafa Elkaliouby, Director for the Middle East and Africa at the International Valuation Standards Council, gave a keynote address on harmonising global standards for consistency and credibility.

The recognition of Surveyor Asare and TDC Ghana Ltd underscores Ghana’s growing influence in shaping valuation standards and practice across Africa.
