Esiama (W/R), May 10, GNA- The remains of Professor Kofi Blay, father of MS. Judith Adjoba Blay, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company, will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 16,2026 at Esiama, in the Ellembelle District.
The internment will follow a laying in state of the body at the Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral in Takoradi for a requiem mass.
The late Professor Kofi Blay died at the age of 86 on March 09,2026 after a short illness.
Born at Esiama in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region on March 16,1940, he attended St. John’s Secondary School in Sekondi and went on to earn his first degree in Sociology from the University of Ghana, Legon.
Professor Kofi Blay later pursued his doctorate degree in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin and dedicated over four decades to education as a lecturer in the United States from 1970 to 2014.
The late Professor Kofi Blay was a member of both the St. Peter Claver Catholic Church at Esiama and Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Takoradi and served as a Youth Patron.
He left behind his wife, Rosemond and two daughters Ms.Adjobah Blay— CEO of Ghana Gas and Dr. Yaba Blay, a lecturer of African Studies.
He was also survived by two granddaughters, two great-grand daughters, and a host of loved ones who call him Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and friend.
