Accra, May 18, GNA – A Ghanaian bead entrepreneur has wrapped up the week-long South Africa Beads Global tour, marking another milestone in the brand’s expanding global outreach.
The tour held in partnership with Excellent Curator ran from May 6 to 12 and saw Founder and Creative Director Mrs. Monica Osei, known widely as Original Mamamaama, meet with clients and partners across Pretoria, Johannesburg, and Cape Town.
A statement issued by Original Mamamaama copied to the Ghana News Agency on Monday said the South Africa leg followed the launch of the global tour in Dubai, UAE in 2025, which set the tone for the brand’s international expansion.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, the statement said Mrs. Osei emphasised connection, faith, and cultural appreciation.
“I just want to make sure my clients are holding unto the core values of the beads business I started with, so they can also excel. It is about aligning your faith with your business and appreciating culture and arts,” it said.
According to the statement, aligning your faith means your decisions, including business and the crafting of the products, must always follow God’s way.
“Because whatever we have received, it’s God who gives. This means your products must be impactful in mending marriages, bringing peace and joy,” it added.
Addressing her clients, the statement quoted Mrs. Osei as explaining that many of the bead designs carried names given through prayer.
“Because your confession becomes something you wear intimately, the names carry real meaning.
“It gave examples like “Aware Pa,” which means good marriage, and noted that they have customers who bought their products and have gone on to experience it in their own lives,” it said.
It explained that the business was more than commerce and it was a blessing from God, and that whoever bought from them also became a partaker.
According to the statement, Original Mamamaama Beads is known for its handcrafted Ghanaian beads, including traditional waist beads, crafted with unique designs and names inspired by faith.
The brand has built a reputation for blending cultural heritage with glorious meaning, creating products that resonate with clients across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
Beyond business meetings, the tour included visits to iconic South African landmarks and creative hubs, the statement said.
“Original Mamamaama toured Nelson Mandela Square and explored several arts and craft markets to engage with local designs and celebrate African artistry.
“I also wanted to familiarize myself with my clients and know them better, because now we are a family,” it quoted Mrs. Osei as saying.
The successful South Africa tour reinforces Original Mamamaama Bead Global’s commitment to building community, supporting entrepreneurship, and promoting Ghanaian craftsmanship on the global stage.
