The examination began on April 7, with practical papers with the English Language Oral paper on May 13, across various examination centres in the region.

The candidates are expected to complete the examination on June 19, with papers in Physics Practical, Performing Arts and Ceramics.

Mrs Marian Jemima Aku Adzroe, the Acting Volta Regional Director of Education, urged candidates to remain calm, disciplined and focused throughout the examination period.

She advised them to avoid all forms of examination malpractice and rather rely on the knowledge and preparation they had acquired over the years.

Mrs Adzroe encouraged the candidates to approach the examination with confidence and determination, stressing that hard work and honesty remained the surest path to success.

“You have prepared for this examination over the years, therefore there is no need to panic or engage in any form of malpractice. Remain focused and do your best,” she said.

The Acting Regional Director also cautioned supervisors, invigilators and examination officials to uphold professionalism and strictly adhere to examination regulations to ensure a smooth and credible process.

She said the Ghana Education Service (GES) had put in place adequate measures in collaboration with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), security agencies and other stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and incident-free examination.

Mrs Adzroe advised candidates to manage their time effectively, obey examination instructions and maintain good health throughout the period.

She expressed optimism that candidates from the Volta Region would perform creditably and make the region proud.

Parents and guardians were also encouraged to continue supporting their wards emotionally and materially during the examination period.

Some candidates who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed confidence in their preparation and hoped to excel in the examination to secure admission into tertiary institutions.

The WASSCE is a major external examination conducted annually for final-year senior high school students across the West African sub-region.
