Keta, May 30, GNA – The Keta Municipal office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has redoubled its efforts to ensure that more residents in the Municipality are captured before the deadline of its ambitious registration drive.

The exercise code named “Storm Initiative” is the free NHIS registration and renewals with no waiting period nationwide.

It runs from April 15 to May 31, 2026.

Mr Prosper in Sevor, Keta Municipal Director of the NHIS Friday stated that to this end, the Scheme was determined to register all eligible people before the close of the Initiative.

He told the Ghana News Agency that the field team of the Municipal office was at the Central Mosque at Keta on Friday to register the Muslim community.

He said that the Scheme was determined to bring the registration closer to the people and made it easier for everybody to be enrolled without borders.

“The Scheme remains committed to ensuring that no eligible person is left without being registered,” he stated.

He encouraged all residents of the area to take advantage of the final window to register for free.

Mr Sevor intimated that maintaining an active NHIS card remained crucial to accessing healthcare delivery, adding “it is important everybody gets one.”

He praised the Field Workers for their dedication and commitment being exhibited to enable the NHIS to achieve its targets and urged them to keep it up.
