Ho (V/R), May 27, GNA – The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has received commendation from market women, residents and authorities in Ho following the successful organisation of its maiden Financial Literacy Outreach in the municipality.
The outreach formed part of activities marking this year’s ICAG Conference and was aimed at promoting financial literacy and strengthening community engagement through practical financial education.
The initiative brought members of the Institute closer to traders, small business owners and residents through direct interactions and educational sessions focused on sound financial management practices.
Participants were taken through practical topics such as savings culture, bookkeeping, record keeping, budgeting, financial planning and strategies for maximising profits in businesses.
The ICAG members also provided guidance on prudent financial decision-making and encouraged participants to adopt proper accounting practices to improve the sustainability and growth of their businesses.
The outreach attracted significant public interest, with many traders expressing appreciation for the initiative and describing it as timely and beneficial, especially for small-scale entrepreneurs and market women.

Some participants told GNA that the exercise had enhanced their understanding of basic financial management and would help them better manage their businesses and personal finances.
Market leaders and traders commended the ICAG for extending its activities beyond professional circles to directly impact ordinary citizens through practical financial education.
The Institute noted that the outreach reflected its commitment to promoting financial literacy, supporting economic empowerment and using professional knowledge to improve livelihoods within communities.
The ICAG indicated that the initiative formed part of broader efforts to deepen public understanding of financial management and strengthen responsible business practices across the country.
