Accra, May 21, GNA- The Accra High Court has granted bail of GHC100,000 with two sureties to Mr Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.
The Court ordered that one surety be justified with landed property, and directed Baffoe to surrender his passport to the Registry and seek permission before travelling outside the jurisdiction.
Justice Halimah El-Alawa Abdul-Baasit, presiding, further ordered Baffoe to report once every fortnight at the Police Headquarters.
The orders followed a bail application moved by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, led by Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame.
Dr Justice Srem-Sai, Deputy Attorney General, did not oppose the application.
Baffoe had earlier been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court on May 13, 2026, after pleading not guilty to charges of offensive conduct to the breach of peace and publication of false news.
His lawyers subsequently filed for bail at the High Court.
Party supporters and lawyers filled the courtroom during proceedings, though Baffoe was not brought before the Court.
He is alleged to have described a Circuit Court Judge in Adenta as a “political judge” and claimed the judge’s rulings contained grammatical errors.
