Accra, May 5, GNA – Charterhouse Productions, organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), have moved the 27th edition of the ceremony from the Palms Convention Centre to the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).

The awards gala, scheduled for May 9, 2026, would celebrate achievements across Ghana’s music and creative arts sectors during the year under review.

In a statement, Charterhouse said the change of venue reflects the growing scale and production needs of the awards scheme.

“The move to the Grand Arena reflects the evolving scale and production ambition of the TGMA. With its expansive capacity, advanced technical infrastructure and enhanced production flexibility, the Grand Arena offers the ideal environment to deliver the world‑class experience audiences have come to expect,” the statement said.

Charterhouse noted that the venue has hosted the awards since 2019 and was purpose‑built to support large‑scale staging, broadcast requirements and audience engagement.

They expressed gratitude to key stakeholders, including headline sponsor Telecel, as well as the sector ministry, for their continued support of the awards.

“We are equally grateful to the Government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the continued collaboration towards hosting this year’s event at the Grand Arena and supporting the growth of the creative arts sector,” the statement added.

The Telecel Ghana Music Awards is one of the country’s flagship entertainment events, recognising outstanding contributions by artistes, producers and other industry stakeholders.
