Accra, May 24, GNA – The Black Maidens of Ghana cruised to a 6-0 victory against their Liberian counterparts in the first leg of their FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
Ghana controlled the match from the outset, combining attacking intensity with tactical discipline to take a firm grip of the match.
Daniella Abass scored the first goal for Ghana in the 31st minute with a close-range finish.
The Black Maidens returned from the break with renewed urgency and doubled their lead in the 53rd minute, with Seidatu Wahab converting from the penalty spot.
Linda Achiaa made it 3-0 four minutes later with a composed finish before Jessica Appiah extended the advantage to 4-0 in the 60th minute following a well-worked team move.
Priscilla Mensah added a fifth goal in the 73rd minute, further underlining Ghana’s dominance, before Mavis Yeboah sealed the emphatic win with a late strike in the 90th minute.
The result leaves Ghana in a strong position heading into the second leg as they seek qualification to the next stage.
