The durbar, which was organised by the Council of Zongo chiefs, under the theme “peace and unity among Zongo people”, aimed at bringing the people together to discuss issues affecting the progress and development of Zongo communities.

The Minister said the government was delivering on its mandate through both national and local initiatives, adding that, the stable economy provided opportunities for businesses, jobs and social interventions that supported ordinary citizens.

Alhaji Muntaka pointed out that, achieving success in life required a lot of patience, discipline, and resilience, especially in communities that strived to progress together.

Success, he noted, did not come instantly, but rather, took time to manifest in one’s daily efforts.

There was, therefore, the need for the people to be resilient, remain focused despite challenges, and continue to work hard even when results were delayed.

He charged the people of Asawase, to remain optimistic that the area would receive its fair share of national development.

He said Parliament and the government continued to engage stakeholders to ensure that projects were distributed in a balanced manner.

Alhaji Muntaka noted, just 15 months in governance, the Asawase constituency had received a fair share of development projects.

He mentioned, among other things, the construction and commissioning of various Astro turf, the building of classrooms, inner roads projects and boreholes to improve access to safe water.

He also highlighted the construction of hospitals and health-related support, as well as the street-lightening system, which he said would enhance security and improve visibility for residents at night.

In addition, he stressed that, such interventions supported education, health, transportation, and daily economic activities of the people.

The Minister urged the gathering to exercise patience and rally behind the government to achieve the purpose for which they were voted for.

He said the pursuit of progress required cooperation from all traditional leaders, youth, women, and religious groups, so that unity could remain strong.

He added that beyond politics, the Zongo community should continue to live in harmony, promote peace during social gatherings, and ensure that the durbar culture strengthened bonds rather than divided people.
