Cairo, March 31, (dpa/GNA) – An oil tanker was hit by a missile in Qatari territorial waters, the country’s defence ministry said on Wednesday in a post on X.
No one was injured, it added. The ministry said three cruise missiles were fired from Iran, adding that two were intercepted.
The ship that was hit was chartered by state energy company QatarEnergy, it said. Steps were being taken to evacuate the vessel’s crew.
There was no immediate information on the extent of the damage to the vessel.
QatarEnergy confirmed the details on X and said, the incident had no impact on the environment.
