Accra, April 27, GNA- Mr Prince Bagnaba Mba, President of Forum for Equity has urged the government to prioritise the completion of Agenda 111 initiated by the previous administration.
That, he added could bring quality health delivery to the doorstep of Ghanaians and demonstrate continuity.
“It will be very expensive for the state to initiate new health projects, when most of the agenda 111 projects have reached substantial levels. “
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on health delivery, Mr Mba said “Good medical services is a top priority in any society and should be tackled with all the seriousness it deserves”.
He said the huge investment in Agenda 111 needed a comprehensive approach which would make provisions for at least thirty percent of some of the hospitals to be fully equipped with specialists to handle different types of ailments.
It would be coded as Health within Our Reach.
He said much as all the completed hospitals would provide general services, the additional specialist services of about thirty percent would ensure referrals are captured within the region.
The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo-led government about five years ago initiated a comprehensive health project(Agenda 111) across the country.
The objective was to increase the number of health facilities in the country.
As at the time they left office in 2025, only few of the facilities had reached completion level.
