Dzodze (V/R), April 17, GNA – The Ketu North Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), has distributed relief items to victims of a recent rainstorm that affected several communities in the municipality.
The storm, which occurred last month, caused extensive damage to homes and property in communities including Afife, Tadzewu, Apeyeme, Bagome, Kasu, Kpordoave, Tasoline, Bedzeme, and Keyime, among others.
Presenting a situational report, the Municipal NADMO Director, Mr Enoch Aforte, said many households were displaced, with several buildings losing their roofs and personal belongings destroyed.
Following an assessment, the Regional NADMO Directorate supplied relief items to support the affected residents.
Rev Martin Amenaki, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu North, formally handed over the items to the Municipal NADMO Directorate for onward distribution.

The items included mattresses, roofing sheets, roofing nails, cooking oil, rice, basins, buckets, blankets, and other essential supplies to help ease the hardship faced by victims.
Earlier, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Edem Agbana, also donated relief items, including mattresses, rice, maize, cooking oil, tomato paste, and washing soap.
Rev Amenaki expressed sympathy to the victims and reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting them through the recovery process.
“To all affected residents, we stand with you in this difficult moment and remain committed to doing more to help you rebuild and restore your livelihoods,” he said.
Mr Aforte assured that the items would be distributed fairly and transparently to ensure that the most affected beneficiaries received support.
He also appealed to individuals and organisations to assist ongoing relief efforts to help ease the burden on victims and accelerate recovery in the affected communities.
